The Open House project at the New York International Gift Fair opened with some forecasting of next year's trends. Pantone, One Kings Lane, and Home Accents Today have predicted the big style trends of 2013. Marrakech Express, American Vintage, Linen Revival, and Graphic Modern will all have sales on One Kings Lane this week.
In other news, a shakeup at Restoration Hardware, missing art in Caracas means something's amiss, and Berlin museums are open past midnight this weekend. See the headlines after the jump.

Ercol Bar Stool
The pattern in the wallpaper in this pic reminds me of the kitchen tile in the reno'd World's Ugliest Condo. Anyone know if it's the same one?
Hmmm, all those trends listed for 2013 sound exactly like what is already in mass market stores now, from Restoration Hardware to Cost Plus World Market.
Fascinating article on the RH intrigue. I am always both annoyed and amused when men who have attained plum positions -- enviable wealth, status, control of their destinies-- just can't keep their pants on when it comes to their underlings.
It's interesting, too, to learn that the (strange, in my opinion) restyling of RH brought it back from near financial ruin. I was a big fan of RH before, but they lost me when they went so...stage set.
@melissapauline when you look at a larger photo of the room, you can tell it's not the same pattern:

I'm bemused by the RH article, too. I used to shop there a lot, but have been (literally) depressed by their recent move to the taupe-to-charcoal color palette. If he got the store to profitability with that abandoned 19th century warehouse look, his audience must be 26-year-old Twilight fans.
Anyone know the source of that hanging acrylic(?) chair?
