Name: Lauren M.
Location: Chicago
Type: One bedroom condo
Why I use color:"Color has been the most consistent source of happiness through out my life. Color taught me how to be creative with minimal resources and it has helped me learn not to be afraid to experiment. I use color because it helps me express my emotions when words just won't do. I use colors to chameleon myself and my apartment. I use it to change, I use it to excite, I use it to invigorate, and mostly I use it to grow. "
2 Good color tips:
"Don't be afraid to try something new. Go outside your favorite color to mix and match for new exciting combinations!"
"Change often. Changing colors can help you out of those life ruts that seem to come during those Chicago season changes. "
Favorite type and brand of paint:"I like to use Benjamin Moore, but most likely, I will use whatever brand that makes paint colors that move me!"

I covet that chair in the first photo!!!
The first shot and the color combination really wowed me....bold, bright and daring use of color. Better framing of the remaining photos and staging of accessories would have made quite a difference, because you definitely have style.
I love the colors. I think you did a very good job in this space.
The B&W stripes look very Fauchon with that pink border!
It's great to see spaces like yours. I go to the paint store - become paralzyed - walk away with timid, tinted whites. Boring!
Thanks for sharing photos of your home.
Your post makes me smile with glee! I enjoy smiling like this. Thank you.
I LOVE: The hot pink/raspberry rug and green wall, the fat, pink vase/bowl on the bookshelf, and the owl.
What color green is that with the hot pink/raspberry rug??
KUDOS TO YOU!!
Your water filter is empty!
LOVE the black & white with the pink chair rail! OK, well, and everything else too! Beautiful!
it's a little overwhelming, and a little too matchy-matchy. but it's cool that you're willing to be so experimental.
Very bold! I love your preppy Izod colors mixed with victorian-modern prints & patterns. You definitely have a design point of view!
The combination of colors reminds me of Kate Spade. Cute.
Wow! I love it!
Oh, I hope you win! This is my absolute favorite... ever. :)
I like your use of strong black and white accents against the colour. It gives everything a sense of adventure, perhaps with a bit of humour mixed in...
Now THIS is bold! And in the best way possible!
what no cat in the picture????
Awesome color choices.
suggestion - paint the outlets the same color as the wall, they blend in and don't pop out. Then you have reached perfection!
love the black and white chair.
this is awesome! one of my top favourites. excellent, wonderful, brave, and darling use of color. definitely a source of happiness!
this is like living on the inside of a jewelry box - very cool. Was the pink-and-green color scheme inspired by a wallpaper pattern you liked?
the lime, plum and black and white were (are) the colors i had planned to build around, then i kinda got away from it and now i'm kinda leaning towards it again!
Awesome! You've got a great eye for combining color.
I'm a little biased because you used my two favorite colors - fuschia and chartreuse. And boy did you ever use them beautifully!
Usually, I don't like stripes, but you have mastered this difficult art form. They are graphic yet soft at the same time. Love the white between the bold colors.
You have also mastered the use of such bold colors. Colors like this become relentless if not matched with softer flourishes and plenty of white.
I love your bedroom - the wall paper looks fantastic within the trim and I love the pops of black and white.
Simply a beautiful place.
I adore it. Simply wonderful. It is a bit matchy-matchy, but you can get away with it, IMO, because the color scheme you've chosen is so fresh, pretty, and lively. And the black accents are so elegant.
Are the framed panels behind the bed wallpaper or fabric?
And please, do tell about the chair.
Fan-TAS-tic!
I love these colors! They are pink and girly without being too Paris Hitlon meets Elle Woods. I think you should be a professional decorator. Seriously. There is too much minimalism in the modern movement. The pink and green and black and white stripes are genius without being gaudy. Bravo!
Lots of stripes and bold patterns and what-not but I suppose it looks alright.
A strip of molding painted pink as well above the black and white stripes would make that wall look nicer.
Really lovely and happy!
i would have taken the trash bins away for the photo... and added something pretty to that table...
i think the cat is on the night table next to the bed ;)
your reading nook is like a dream come true
I keep thinking of this while viewing your pics:
"I LOVE being a girl!"
Adorable place!!!
