Living large in a small apartment is cool because it is easy to keep up and everything is within reach, perfect for 'lazy' people with short arms and legs like me! my decoration concept for my apartment is a well balance of cool and warm; clean and mess. A mesh between of a hip hotel suite + a warm cozy home = home-suite-home.

Your favorite element:
Giant 60s full moon lamp

LOVE the circular light over the bed -- anyone know where can I find it? Think this space have a very nice ambiance.
You have the IKEA city print that I love!
Wish the pictures were brighter (basement apt?), but willing to see more cos the moon lamp and the cityscape wall mural have me intrigued....
i think you have a great start with your direction, i'd like to see a bed with a little more style (perhaps with a DWR cert? ;)... but i like the jux. of the cow hide against city scapes... great bed lighting, not so great for photography
love the pup!
Where did you get the round storage (?) towers in the bedroom? They're cool.
Whoa! Are you topless?
I love that city print in your living room! And that huge circular light in your bedroom very cool space!
LOVE the light above the bed. i need one. please tell where you got it.
LOVE the bulldog. my mother-in-law has one, and his tongue is perpetually out too ! bulldogs are so great, and yours looks great with the cowhide rug...!
thanks for sharing.
Yes Anne, he's topless. Too bad he's modest.
The dog is very cool.
I do like the huge light fixture above your bed and the marshmallow sofa.
And the image of the city with the Flatiron building -- super fabu. The rest of the place? I don't know.
The round storage units look kind of like these:

Hubba hubba.
Isn't that a waste of a picture - #1 and #3 are identical!
^ I was just going to say...!
Why not a pic of the office or dining area... or kitchen or bathroom...?
oh i wish the shot had better lighting!
Where did you get the topless guy reading the magazine? He'd go perfectly with my apartment.
No really, I'm jealous of all those componibili's.
I know...bad pics, same pics...LOL! Honestly, I discovered AT by accident on May 6th, literally less than an hour before the contest deadline. I thought: Maybe I should wait til next year or I should rush to measuring, drawing, writing, taking pics with my cellphone? Obviously, I did not wait & my bf (in pic) was wondering what the heck am I doing so late? So, I admit I was not prepared and hopefully I can get a chance to show y'all more!
love the Nelson marshmallow couch in the bedroom, the cowhide everything, the magazine storage units, and round storage thingies in the bedroom...
would love for you to win a DWR bed though...
voting finalist, you've got great taste.
Correction: Dateline was April 16th, not May 6th. LOL!
Giant Moon Lamp is a rare vintage from the 60s.
I paid half a month's rent (One bedroom in W.Hollywood: $1250-$1650) for it! The vintage dealer knew I was obsessed and possesed, so he totally ripped me off! A piece of advice: Never buy anything without a price labeled on it!
You can get Anna Castelli Round-up Modular Storage at Kartell or Unica, google it!
NY Flat Iron Building print is from Ikea.
"Cutie" turns 10yo in August. She doesn't like when I move things around!
Topless hunky guy...cute bulldog...
Now all you need is a closet full of obsessively organized Manolos and Jimmy Choos and you've hit the trifecta.
The set-up and photograph are great in the last picture (well and first since it's the same). So much storage and so comfy.
You found out about this an hour before?? Man, some of us have gone through the "Cure" and waited since last year to enter! I guess you lucked out and missed the stress.
never thought i would see a marshmallow sofa and a futon in the same picture.
atleast your priorities seem to be in the right place.
Ummmm....I didn't know Manolo Blahnik or Jimmy Choo still made shoes for men...owner's name is Keith, right?
:)
BTW, the lamp is a find and a classic--you didn't pay too much :)
OK, nobody panic, but I think the rug's made from dogskin!!! Just kiddN.
I like the composition of the pix. I feel voyeuristic spying on the guy in bed & I love that the pooch matches the rug & chair. I just wanna squeeeeze her. And all the stuff in front of the cityscape kinda looks like a little city. But outta 3 pix I get 1 wall of the living room & 1 wall from the bedroom-Dang! I hope the rest of the place looks as good.
Good luck.
Great job with your entry considering how little time you had to put it together. I also really like your sorage in the living room. It looks cool, more like a colection of boxes than storage.
But my one question, why hide a showpiece like a marshmellow couch in your bedroom? I wouldn't even think that a couch in the bedroom would get much use.
HOT space, just goes to show.. that a lot of stuff displayed can look great.... if its really cool stuff
The BULLDOG is my favorite part:)
This apartment does have windows, right?
looks like the bedroom is pretty 'done', but I feellike there's way too much going on in the #s1 and 3 shots - very busy...eyes need respite (and light!).
cool bedroom (sans bed)!
This is one of my favorites, especially the contrast between the cowhides and the cityscape (I never saw that at Ikea).
Too ignorant to know what a marshmallow couch is, but if it's those circular cushions in the bedroom, then I like them.
I love that this place is not as fussed over as the other entries, really shows what a great eye you have (vs., eg., a great architect or vacuum cleaner or ocd). So much better than the boring NYC apartments.
psst: interesting objet d'art on the bedside table...
Idiom police here
People, people.
Men are not "topless" My mom once told me I had a cute top on -*shiver* --Men are "Shirtless". And if I can keep it up at the Y, I too might be by summer's end.
i love that there is a actual human being in the photo....makes this entry more real and helps with visualizing scale. Love it!
LouLou,

Location: West Hollywood, CA : so you never know ;)
House Tour Please
Love your candor about being able to reach everything. The Kartell stacks by the bed are great for that and still end up looking sculptural and cool.
Renata: That looks to be a Ericofon on the nightstand to me...
I love ecclectic when the owner unifies it with his/her personality, and this one absolutely succeeds in that. There isn't anything I don't like! However, I do think it's unfair of you to put your bulldog in contest pictures. There isn't a room anywhere that doesn't look better with a bulldog in it.
What is that lovely thing on the table to the left of the bed? A clock? I wish I could see it better--it's interesting.
There are so many animal skins on entrants' floors, or draped over beds and furniture. How can products of slaughter be considered good design? I bet many people who toss fur around their homes would not wear it on their bodies.
Everybody's so keen on living green. How about incorporating humane design elements, too?
Um, wood furniture ain't always green design...
And do you eat meat? Wear leather shoes?
this is really cool, id love to see some better photos though! cute dog
ooh, i want to see more. this looks so well put together.
whats up with now windows on the floorplan? intentional or accidental? if this is a basement, then congrats on lucking out with high ceilings!
voted insta finalist based on what i see. wish pics had more variety though :)
and good to know its a phone on the bedside table. thank you for the information, Nick!
Great place Keith - and great lamp! Does the bf ship outside of the US? LOL
P2:
No, I don't eat meat or wear leather ... those were easy to let go of (36 years ago -!), and my standard of living hasn't dropped a jot.
But even if I were a Carl's Jr burger-chompin, leather-jacketed person, would that negate my criticism of tossing animal skins and fur around in the name of design? I mean, I know this is a design blog and all, but decorating a space is a discretionary luxury, of minor consequence in the grand scheme of things. All I'm sayin', how about a little compassion inside our four walls?
