Ever want to get those super smooth panning shots you see in the movies for your camcorder or DSLR? Professional dollies usually come with a heavy price tag, but we've managed to find a few affordable ones that won't put a huge dent in your wallet.
The Pico Flex Dolly ($65) - This dolly is one of the smallest and lowest priced dollies around. At only $65, it's perfect for travel and can be taken with you anywhere. It even comes with a nifty camera bag. It's ideal for any type of camera, including DSLRS and small video cameras. The Pico Flex is available now for preorder and the first batch will be sent out next week.
Cineskates Camera Sliders ($150) - This Kickstarter project has already made a good $100,000 more than its $20,000 goal. With such high demand, this idea definitely shows promise. The Camera Sliders attach to the bottom of a Gorilla pod (included), changing it into an extremely versatile and flexible camera dolly. With such flexibility and the adjustable BallHead, the CineSkates make it easy to achieve low and creative camera angles.
Focus 35 Dollies ($139-199) - Focus 35 has two relatively inexpensive 360-degree dollies available—the Skater V3 Dolly ($139) and the Folding Track Dolly ($199). The Skater V3 is made on a ¼" aluminum frame. The legs move independently at a variety of angles and the adjustable arms (which can be locked) move smoothly. The Track Dolly is also made of aluminum. The wheels have sealed bearings and fully rotate. It also features adjustable leg locks and the Track Dolly folds up easily for storage/transportation.
