Digging through the Dwell archives, we were pleased to rediscover the tiny West Village studio of Milan Hughston. Featured in a 2005 issue, Milan's one room studio is only 400 square feet and a wall of Teflon-treated nylon/polyester drapes help conceal storage, a custom-made Murphy bed and a flip-down tabletop...
Milan worked with architect Joel Sanders and the transformative possibilities of the apartment make it truly inspirational for small space dwellers. Check out the full article and all the photographs: Dwell | One Room Fits All.

Pretty impressive
One of my favorites.
Do the sheets mess up on the bed when he moves it up and down?
I could so not live like this.
one of the best studios i have ever seen
Really beautiful studio and a good use of nice iconic furniture, but I think it'd be too dark with just those tiny windows on one wall.
Very versatile space. I love the challenge of designing to live in a small space (600 sq. ft. or less). With 400 sq. ft in this featured unit, I still think that the space can be more functional. Of course, I do not know the floorplan, and some small units can have quite awkward layouts.
The design of that table is clever.
Um... I personally think with all the room by the couch, it'd make more sense to only make the desk concealable and leave the bed un-morphy-ized. lol Yeah, it'd loose some, if not all, wow-factor, but it'd also be a lot less awkward and if you had to work overnight, you would have the option to leave things as-is for a couple of days without having to loose the bed otherwise. Now, after that... it looks really good.
