So many hot holiday drinks and other culinary treats call for cinnamon sticks at this time of year, but you can also use them in holiday decorating. Here are a few up-to-date ideas for using cinnamon sticks in wreaths:
While cinnamon sticks can easily go country cozy, they can also be a great raw material for simple and modern decor. Take the first and second wreaths pictured up top, for instance. Their starburst forms are fresh and different. The third wreath is done in a monolithic basketweave pattern: we love its heft and materiality. All of these designs would take a lot of sticks, but imagine how great they'd smell!

These are adorable, and I bet they are fun to make too!!
Wow, these really do look modern. But I don't think I am crafty enough to undertake these projects!
Ooh, the starburst pattern may be just what my kitchen window is calling for !
LOVE the first one!
@Christa, really? Think back to like, second grade when you got to glue Popsicle sticks and make houses and stuff. Same thing! Plus if you go to a craft store I'm sure someone would be happy to point you to a good base to use for the wreath and some good glue. Never let the "I can'ts" keep you from trying something fun!
The starburst is just what I've been looking for. Now, can someone suggest where I can buy a lot of cheap cinnamon sticks?
abccornwell - try the dollar store, ours usually has them.
