Now that the July 4th festivities have wound down, what are you going to do with the rest of your long, long weekend? Here are three suggestions for ways to get outside and enjoy the summer weather.
If you have a garden, or a park nearby with wildflowers, why not gather up some flowers and preserve them as art? You can use pigments from flowers to make patterns on watercolor paper — and the resulting pictures will be a fun reminder of the time you spent outdoors. (And if you're looking for more ideas, here are even more crafts you can make with flowers.)
If making pictures isn't your thing, what about gathering some wildflowers (and sticks and branches and bit and bobs) to make a wild flower arrangement for your home? This is a great, economical way to bring the outdoors in.
This could be a perfect weekend to tackle some of those outdoor tasks you've been putting off. Fay Wolf suggests making a list to make things a little more manageable; if you've already made a list, now could be the perfect time to start crossing things off.
Thanks for watching, and happy weekend!
