What inspired you?

Necessity: Can't afford real art + don't have any space. So, let storage become art. Collections of objects add texture and color. Books, diecast toys, jars of dry goods & cookware. Custom-made details transform an elegant, though not untypical space – oversized steel shelf brackets, custom AC covers, a nautical-inspired dropped ceiling, stainless steel bathroom mirror trim.

Make rooms do double functions: entry hall as library; kitchen as studio.

Think of your favorite music – think about your spaces. Here's mine: Kitchen/Tender/Blur; Bedroom/Alone in Kyoto/Air; Bathroom/Small/Lamb; Living Room/La Vie Est Belle, MC Solaar; Entry Hall/Time to Get Wise/William Orbit.

Design Tip:

When in doubt, go industrial. Stretch electrical cords, commercial kitchen tables and SOS lighting fixtures can make a space feel more unique and durable.
