Fit more undercounter. We installed an undercounter refrigerator to maximize counter space in our small kitchen. Our choice? The 30" Marvel refrigerator/freezer.
It's the widest undercounter unit we could find, which is great because it frees up a lot of counter space and still has a respectable amount of storage (8 cubic feet). We haven't regretted going undercounter, though the freezer is manual defrost, which isn't ideal. It comes in black, white, or stainless and the door can accept a 1/4" custom panel.

I can hear Paul screaming from here.
That's a mighty small freezer.
I'm jealous! My fridge is way too big for one person and it just seems wasteful. And isn't manual defrost better for preventing freezer burn?
I love undercounter fridges. And as for the freezer issues, why not get an undercounter fridge and then also get an undercounter freezer? That way, you don't sacrifice fridge space and the freezer can be spiffier, too.
Jeremy, do you know of any model of undercounter freezer you would recommend. I have been looking for one on and off with no succes
Natural Light beer?
Along the same lines, I noticed this earlier and thought someone here might be interested...

Compact Appliance - http://tinyurl.com/2hbccs
oh! my fridge is at that compact appliance site. i am in a live/work loftshare and there were too many of us sharing one fridge. i got sick of it so i got my own. it's not an under-the-counter deal, but it certainly doesn't take up as much room as a large model.
here's another picture of my fridge, the week i got it. be sure to check out the flickr notes pointing out all the fancy features.
I am looking for an under the counter freezer. Just the freezer, I am wondering now if such a thing exist.
Here's an under counter all freezer:

Omg that fridge is organised! Do people really have fridges like that?!
tin_angel,
I think that photo shows a 'supplemental' fridge. All they've got is beer, lemons, and several salads that they've chosen not to cover (yuk). I think they're about to have a party.
My husband and I bought the 30" Marvel two years ago. It's been a DISASTER! Worst thing I've EVER bought. The door doesn't seal well (about a 1/4" gap), food spoils quickly, the freezer is ALWAYS chunky with ice - looks like the Artic, and parts have fallen off. The shelves have a thin aluminum guard that when the door kept falling off (really!!) the guards got dented. No problem with the dents I guess because the guards finally popped off and my husband had to drill and glue wood strips to hold the food on the shelves. Our handyman put bolts and big hinges on the door to keep it (finally) on the fridge.
How has Marvel responded to all this? They don't. I actually plan on reporting them to the Better Business Bureau - I'm THAT upset! Plus - extremely expensive. I thought you get what you pay for - but with Marvel, you don't.
HORRIBLE COMPANY. HORRIBLE PRODUCT.
I too have had the same misery with this refrigerator. The door has stayed on but never seals, the freezer is a constant mess and now one of the freezer hinges has broken off. Not looking forward to getting in touch with the company to try to get THAT fixed.
