When your home is small, you don't necessarily have a bedroom and and office, library, or media room. Here are a few bedrooms that work double hard, allowing multiple uses in just one space:
• 1 a bedroom with a chic desk area, designed by Jamie Drake
• 2 This bedroom doubles as a library and takes its style cues from one, too. Via Trifle
• 3 another library-esque bedroom by Gil Schafer
• 4 a wall-mounted LCD in the bedroom, via Unplggd

I loved that Jamie Drake bedroom the first time I saw it published. I love that kind of "colored envelope" bedroom. So soothing, so chic.
And, hey, that's the Eden Roc lamp by Alpha Workshops bedside!
And then there's me, whose bedroom is also her office, living room, dining area, kitchen, library, potting shed and exercise room. Several of these bedrooms are bigger than my whole living space. I'd be hardcore if this was intentional. :P
since when does having a TV in the bedroom make it double use? I don't have one in my bedroom but I would bet there are millions of others that do.
I love the rooms with the books though
Not at all fond of Bedrooms that have TVs and Librarys in them...
...but #1 is Gorgeous - With a desk and a view like that I could write a novel.
Holy cow, where is the bench in second picture from? It's beautiful!
Well, my bedroom has a desk, a library (my working library with academic texts) and an LCD. Or it will once the LCD is delivered.
And it doesn't look as nice as any of these.
Except for that last one...
I'm sure Bedroom #4 is perfectly nice, but I look to Apartment Therapy for aspirational photography. I suppose I could aspire to have an LCD TV, but there's nothing in Bedroom #4 that really wows me or inspires me to be creative in my living space.
I have a bookshelf and a desk in my bedroom. To me, a small beautiful writing desk in a bedroom is very romantic.
I'm with Phalene. I'd love to see a post on triple and quadruple-duty rooms. I'm currently trying to make my apartment cohesive; it's completely furnished. When I write "furnished," of course I mean "came with everything the previous owner didn't take back to America, including picture frames, toiletries, musty rug, and mismatched everything." So that's a barrel of monkeys and then some fun.
I want Jamie Drake to come to my apartment immediately.
I'll be honest - I'm not impressed with any of these - there are elements I appreciate from each, but this isn't a source of inspiration for me as someone who truly has a room that serves near triple duty.
I live with roommates in a Boston apartment, so my room is my only space to really design. This means - my room serves as craft room, office, living room, dressing room, library, and bedroom in some form or another. I have had to combine a fully-functional computer workspace with space for crafting/sewing, storage for yarn, jewelry, papercrafts, sewing supplies, and more, storage for clothing and random personal belongings, books, etc.
These are just rooms with a desk, tv, and bookshelves. I fail to see the 'double-use'. It's really just a room with an extra piece of furniture. The last bedroom, specifically, what is that? There's nothing saucy about it.
Number two: Is that an Oliver Jackson over the bed?
Wait, I'm seeing bedrooms with book shelves. Hardly revolutionary. Reminds me up upscale dorm rooms, actually. I would like to see some bedrooms that are truly dual use, but these are not.
@ littlestfinch: i get that. Every space in my last apartment was combined with some sort of 'studio' space:
