We find it to be a luxury when we're able to spend time outdoors in amazing weather. If you're like us, you can manage with a set of steps but when we're lucky enough to spend an afternoon in an inspiring garden like Kay's--it's beyond compare. Four excellent ideas from Kay's garden after the jump.
We love the element of surprise in Kay's garden. The unexpected blue wall with two vintage mirrors (and deer antlers to boot) adds rustic charm that reads enchanting.

Shells (whether strung or grouped in a basket) always give a hint of past trips to the beach.
In college--we loved our trusted patio thermometer (always checking it before leaving the house). Kay's Eiffel Tower thermometer takes the standard instrument into a new league--again reminding us of former trips out of town.
An inviting spot (or two) to sit, relax and read a good book is necessary for any outdoor garden spot.

So pretty...so peaceful...and I love the pillows on the garden bench. Where did you find them?
Lovely .. I love all the overgrown plants... I live in Arizona so trying to get a garden that green is quite the challenge ... Well done ;)
AUGH, I love it so much. I dream of having an outdoor space like that someday...
Everything is beautiful but the mounted deer head.
Oh!Lala!!I'm loving it!!! loved the bench!!! I want one for my balcony garden....
"Fashionably_True" I also live in Arizona and yeah I understand you it is quite a challenge specially when you came from San Diego!, but not imposible I live in a apartment and my neighbors always telling me that they love my garden, they ask me questions and that makes me feel good, also I start seeing that other people are starting their container garden in their balcony and ofcourse thats joy to me!Anyways Good luck with your garden and if you need help I'm here to help too!!!
They're antlers, which deer shed, naturally.
Antlers, not a deer head. Deer do shed their antlers naturally. I don't like these indoors, but it looks great outside. It's kind of quirky and fun next to the fancy old vintage mirrors. Also practical since they could act as a little jacket/scarf rack.
I love the bench! I usually hate wicker as I am used to seeing the kind they have at Home Depot. Where would one find a bench like this one?
Actually, I don't think those are shed antlers. They have little pieces of skull attached, don't they?
I love the relaxed mood you have created Kay! The pops of color are especially great!
