Why I use color:

I use color to make me feel happy. It inspires me to think creatively and is the easiest/cheapest way to liven my spirits at the end of a mundane day. Color is capable of changing my mood for the better and motivates me to think outside the box. When I see a certain combination of colors together, the left side of my brain generates ideas: everything from a different outfit I can put together for tomorrow, to a new combination of ingredients I can use in the night's dinner, to an interesting layout in my current graphic design project.

2 good color tips:

1. Just like in graphic design, sometimes less is more powerful than more. Use vibrant colors in sparity against neutral backgrounds. This will really allow them to pop.

2. Choose colors that make you think of food you love to eat. This will naturally make you feel happy. For example, I love the combo of green and brown because it reminds me of mint chip ice cream.

2 good color resources:

1. A 128 set of Prismacolor markers or Crayola crayons.

2. The colors that come from nature and exist in your natural surroundings.
