Why I use color: I used color to add interest to this tiny bathroom. Natural multicolor slate tiles against the grey floor and natural wood make this space relaxing, but not boring. Even if you look at the tiles everyday - you will always be able to find something interesting in the multitude of their earth tones (my favorite past time while brushing my teeth). Did I already mention, that it's also inexpensive and a completely DIY project?

2 good color tips:

1. Don't be afraid of using strong, dark colors in small spaces - if you can't make them bigger, you can at least make them interesting (diversion'technique').

2. Be brave and break stereotypes - dark doesn't mean depressed and pastel - happy color is perceived in as many ways, as there are people, so try different colors before you decide what's not for you.

2 good color resources:

1. Your plate and your local produce market.

2. Art through the centuries.
