For the zillionth time, do NOT use toothpaste to polish any jewelry or silver that you care about. It's too abrasive and could damage your valuables.
I wish you guys would stop posting this harmful "tip."
Not all toothpaste are created equal. I've found only the actual white type toothpaste (not the gel kind) works.
The phone screen one is the only real tip I've heard before.
Agreed with Polly S. its too abrasive for s lot of metal jewelry. And grout in your tub? It seems more cost effective and less...minty, to just get a tub/tile cleanser or go the grapefruit/salt route.
A better tip for bugbites is ammonia. A dab of pure ammonia or even windex will stop itch. Same ingredient as in those bite sticks.

I knew plenty of dorm-dwellers in college who kept their security deposits by filling tack holes with toothpaste!
However, my mother-in-law is a jeweler, and she says toothpaste is terrible for precious metals. Scrub with a toothbrush and appropriate cleaning solution -- use water if you're not sure what's best for your jewelry.
