Well, Thanksgiving is over and that means one thing — on to the next holiday! Wreaths are a chic and simple way to decorate for the holidays without going too crazy. There are so many different styles of holiday wreaths and that's what makes them so wonderful. You can seriously choose a wreath to match your personality or even how you're feeling that day!
Wreaths make great DIY projects but you could also go the easy route and purchase one. If you pack up your wreath right at the end of the holiday season, you can use it again each year to come!

I love the second and fifth wreaths! they look so fun and homemade! In a world of overstuffed Christmas decorations these are so refreshing and down to earth.
Also love these:

This weekend I was trying to make a modern-looking bow for a wood wreath. All of the examples I could find on the internet were very old-fashioned. Any ideas?
@boston_kat How about metallic? Either a metallic cloth/ribbon; or cutting it out of flashing or copper foil; or wire; or a combination of all these? I think it would look very good with wood.
@bostonkat: have you considered leaving the bow off? I bought a modern wreath and no matter what I did with the bow, it looked to traditional for the wreath. So, I decided to not add a bow. It's different than what I'm used to, but I like the effect. It really enhances the modern look.
My mother bought me a gorgeous little wreath made from a mix of evergreen bows, juniper, cedar, and a few other varieties of greenery..as well as a couple of pinecones and juniper berries. It sounds elaborate as I describe it but it is simple and very organic and I LOVE it!!
I recently bought a beautiful wreath from Etsy (from http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheBakersDaughter?ref=pr_shop_more ) and am confronted with a little DC problem: How to hang it on the security door of my Capitol Hill home? It's a black metal gate/door, but it's not wide enough at the top for a regular wreath hanger. Any suggestions or tricks?
