Adam Simha is the MIT grad who founded MKS Design in 1998. With a focus on the medium of metal, MKS designs and manufactures innovative works of furniture, home accessories, and knives.
The 5 Minute Chair is a testament to Simha's mastery over metal. The steel from which the piece derives is dense, and as a result, hard to manipulate. But Simha was able to work with the material in a way that maintained the steel's structural integrity, while also making a chair that is sleek and surprisingly comfortable.
Because of the chair's strength and durability, the 5 Minute Chair will last for a lifetime and beyond. All that from a 5 minute prototype.
If you're in the Boston area, check this chair out in person at Room 68..
