Ooh, a big storm is being forecast for tonight. Can't wait! Why not take this opportunity to revisit the theme of storm-colored rooms? Here are a few more rooms to add to the collection:
On the weather front, I just found out we're under a tornado watch. So, you may find these selections lean toward that green-ish tinge that precedes such an event. What do you think? Do you, like me, want to design a room with a storm as the inspiration?

love it! my new loft is painted in grey and dark navy! it's such a chic palette.
I love the colours and patterns in the 3rd photo.
I love #3. #4 is a little busy for me.
#1 is depressing and #5 dull, but #2-4 are gorgeous.
Love the color of number 4! I wish I could know what it was.
Living in Portland, OR means 11 months of grey skies. No thank you to storm-colored interiors.
What Sam I Am said. I would not paint my walls to match what I see in Portland every day. That said, #3 is awesome.
I'm probably the only one who loves #1. I'm looking for a color for a bathroom and that is about what I'm envisioning. The vanity is honed black granite, the floor tiles make me think of storm clouds and tile around the tub is dark and matte.
The kitchen will be pretty stormy as well, the same tile is used throughout the first floor and the cabinets will be battleship gray, the counters are Azul Platino (very stormy) gray.
I love #1 as well. I can't get enough of those beautiful blue-greys!
3 and 4 would be fun to visit, but a little intense to be in my home.
I moved into a small one-bedroom mid-century walk-up in Ottawa, Ontario, about four years ago. I painted every room in my place a different shade of gray. (Perhaps an homage to Jaspar Johns' exhibition in 2008...?) Light gray in the living/dining room, medium gray in the bedroom and dark gray in the bathroom. By coincidence, all paint colours had titles referencing weather! Who says "Freezing Rain" can't be the colour of a living room...? I love my colour palette. I wouldn't have it any other way. I accent each room with white and my art collection. Gray all the way!
The walls in #4 are simply heaven. I'd probably stick with white or cream furniture pieces to make it less peacock-feathery, but LOVE.
I also happen to love #1. The blue and grey are just so beautifully matched.
Maybe the next post can be about what colors to paint your interiors when you live in a city that has storm-colored exteriors for most of the year (i.e. Portland or Seattle)?
oh... I absolutely LOVE the blues, greys, and creams of that bedroom! GORGEOUS!
Love this post! My whole downstairs is painted a fantastic dark blue/purple color called "Stormy Night." I was nervous to paint everything such a drastic color but I absolutely love it. (Granted I do live in Phoenix so I get enough sunshine throughout the year!)
My room looks very similar to bedroom #1, but slightly lighter. If anybody is curious, the color is Benjamin Moore Silver Satin. Couldn't love it more.
My room looks like #1. It is very soothing for a bedroom. I love it.
What is the color for #1? I am looking for a pure gray for our walls. We are wanting to use Sherwin Williams paint because my step-father is a painter and is doing our home. That is what he prefers to use. I know Behr Dolphin Fin is more of a yellow-undertone, but I LOVE it. What would you recommend for that? Thanks!
