• Christmas posts by Yvonne from Yvestown blog never ceases to inspire. This year, she covered a faux wreath with Christmas lights and replaced the plug with a connector so that she could turn the lit wreath into a holiday chandelier. She explains that by hard-wiring the lights she's able to turn the wreath on and off with the light switch. Check out her Yvestown blog post for more pictures and details.
• If you like the idea of a lit up overhead wreath chandelier, but are a little daunted by the hard-wiring process, you can get a similar look by slipping a wreath over an existing chandelier or pendant light. Of course, safety comes first, so make sure the light bulb doesn't come into contact with the wreath.
• Sconces work too. This look may be a little too country-ish for most, and if so, try a different variation from the usual evergreen wreath. For more modern looking DIY wreaths, check out these past posts:

• Empty frames and mirrors are perfect places to add a little holiday flair— a classic favorite that never ceases to be classy.
• Aside form candles in the window, wreaths suspended from windows and french doors are my favorite traditional holiday look. Another Christmas classic that never goes out of style.
Where will you be hanging your wreath this year?

Thank you Yvonne. Beautiful Idea!
The first two are wonderful!
Just check if you hang a wreath on a light fixture that (a) it doesn't get too hot and (b) it doesn't block the light too much. (I tried one on my dining room chandelier last year, and had to take it down because it darkened the table too much. Sad, it was pretty!)
I love all of these ideas for using wreaths around the house! Real wreaths are a nice alternative to a real tree when its not practical to have one. Plus, they're a nice way to adapt a tradition that you likely grew up with, which I happened to blog about today: younghipandhandy.blogspot.com
Cute ideas!
this design blog has other holiday ideas as well:

I propose a ban on the word "classy."
Argh. I love wreaths and other fresh stuff indoors! Unfortunately my cats do as well, so no greenery indoors unless it is eating greens (where the cats get the leavings). (Did I tell you about the 14 lb. manx-cobbie who will attach for kale?).
Great ideas, all! Thanks!
I am using the stick on wall hooks (between two high windows since I live in a basement apt) to hang my wreath and stockings since my apt doesn't have a mantle/fireplace
I love to use wreaths to make centerpieces for each room with different theme.Great ideas!
