While shopping around for headboards for our guest room, I was shocked to see how pricey these bedroom accent pieces are – even my go-to for affordable options, IKEA, didn’t offer a headboard for a queen-sized bed for under $100. Finding inexpensive twin or full-sized headboards is a relatively easy task, but outfitting my queen guest bed with an attractive headboard for under $100 seemed nearly impossible – that is, until I found some great pieces online. Although the wall decal from Blik requires minimal elbow grease, each of these under $100 headboards are simple, chic, and would serve as lovely backdrops to statement-making or serene bedding.

Sorry a wall decal is NOT a headboard - so there is 4 headboards for under $100.
Except for the decal, which I agree is not a headboard, they are all pretty ugly. With a staurday afternoon, and that hundred dollars at a big box store you could probably create something much cooler.
ChrisGal, while the decal (which I still think is pretty cool) does cut the total for 4, not 5, headboards under $100, there's a couple other headboard options over at the ASID Product Finder, might want to swing by and check them out

For my guest room, I bought 2 extra large cushions from Ikea when they had them on sale. I use them as 'headboard'. They actually look really pretty.
I just installed a decal similar to the one featured in this post. It was complicated and difficult to install...

LoveDecor, you might have to poke around or send some inquiries to find a specific price range but it's got a TON of headboard listings. Should be able to find a couple for under $100. If I find any specifically I'll post them up here.
I used a decal from etsy that looks just like the one featured. The outer stripe is dark grey and the inner stripe black. I will say that for a small room, it looks fantastic and should absolutely be featured as a headboard option. Most people think I painted it.
But do headboards just connect to any old bed?? I'm looking for a headboard but every time I find a nice looking one it always says something like "compatible with xx bed"
I will never understand the concept of that shelf headboard. I move a lot in bed, and would knock everything down.
As a renter...I'm diggin' the decal option.
