Before you even leave your bedroom in the morning, there are a few things you can do to make your day a little better. So tomorrow morning, before you stumble out of the bedroom door to grab coffee or turn on the news, give one of these a try...

Drink a glass water

Jennifer tried it — and wrote about it — and while it seems pretty simple, it's a great way to start the day on a healthy note. And everyone could use a little hydration.

Review and scheme

Before you even leave your bed, go over your favorite and least favorite parts of yesterday. Toss out the bad parts and savor the good ones, and think about your intentions for the day ahead. Then write up or go over your daily to-do list and goals. It'll help you start the day feeling organized and in-control.

Say hi to someone

Take yourself out of your own world for a minute to say hello to a partner, snuggle a sweet pet, or maybe even shoot a text message or email to someone to tell them good morning and wish them a great day.

Glance at and appreciate your great design tastes

If you've put work into your bedroom — if you've made it look like the kind of room you like, decor-wise — take a moment to appreciate the whole picture or something specific. It seems silly, but if your bedroom represents your personality, you could ground yourself in enjoying your surroundings or even just a favorite art piece. These little smile moments can help you survive stress in the day ahead.

Make the bed

Before you leave the bedroom, make the bed. Even just the sight of a neatly made bed will motivate you as you move through your house eating breakfast and getting ready for work. And there won't be a chance you forget before you leave, so you'll be able to enjoy the tableau of a made bed when you get home after a long day.
