The kitty wants you to vacuum better...Listen to your pets, get that dirt out of your house!
For most of us, vacuuming the house is a chore we dread, maybe even avoid. So it behooves you to do it well and do it right, so you won't have to do it nearly as often. Here are our 5 tips to better vacuuming in your home.
- Replace your filter regularly! Not only does it help your vacuum suck better, but it also ensures that you are capturing all of the grime you want off of your floors and out of your home.
- Use Arm and Hammer vacuum powder to remove stains and keep your home smelling fresh. This simple powder does wonders to remove pet hair and other grime from your house in addition to leaving your carpet feeling soft and new.
- Turn your fan on in your HVAC to help remove any material you kick up into the air and make your lungs happier.
- Strangely our vacuum and many others we have used tend to fling debris backwards instead of sucking them up when we use our upright on hard floors. If you suffer from this break out your wand attachment and suck up everything up that way. While tedious at least you are getting all of the dirt and grime that otherwise was flung against your legs.
- While the vacuum is a miracle worker in the home sometimes, a dustpan and a broom are more effective at moving debris to where they can be removed. We sometimes sweep things like cat litter into a pile to make it easier to suck up. Even if you compulsively clean like we do, this tip can save your times and keep your house grime free.
Your pets appreciate cleanliness and only are as clean as you...No one wants dirty pets.
VACUUM MUST... NEVER buy a vaccum without a HEPA filter.

That's because you either didn't turn off the beater bar or the vacuum has no option to do so. A good vacuum should have a little lever that allows you to disengage the belt which turns the beater bar. You don't need a beater bar to vacuum hardwood floors, you just need the suction to pull up dust and debris into the vacuum.

That's incorrect.
HEPA filters by definition filter 99.97% particulate 0.3 uM in diameter. Particulate smaller or larger is not defined.
Because of conflicting forces, 0.3 uM is the most difficult size to filter.
The problem is that most of the mechanical connections (including the ones surrounding the filter) aren't tight enough to prevent the same size particulate from flowing through.
You end up paying more for filters which don't last as long or do any more than any other vacuums.
If you want a good vacuum, check out what they're using at your local hotel. Those are generally excellent.
Get a Dyson. I have two dogs, including a pug who sheds quite a bit, and my house doesn't have that doggy smell (I just had my sister over and asked about it because I was so paranoid, and she said she couldn't smell a thing.) Yeah, it's expensive, but it works spectacularly, especially if you have pets.
My Dyson vacuum changed my cleaning life. I highly recommend them. I have the smaller version (so that I can tuck it away in the closet) and it works just as well as the full size for $100 less in price - the only difference is how much dirt the canister can hold, so it needs to be emptied more frequently.
hmm the thing about carpet powders is that they tend to fall through the carpet and collect underneath it. You'll find all of that powder and more in great volumes the next time you have to replace the carpet!
