Stylelist Home

Every time I open my front door this time of year I have little moths that fly in thanks to my front porch light which, in my rough and tumble neighborhood, is always on at night. If you end up with them in your dresser or around your clothes they can be trouble. Eight methods were tested to get rid of moths, three worked, but one came out the real winner. Want to know what it was?

Stylelist Home put sweaters and moths to the test. They experimented with a bunch of old wives' tales to get rid of the moths, but only three things really worked. Although the winners did overwhelmingly impart their signature scent to the clothes, these classic solutions were still super effective:

• Cedar
• Cloves
• Lavender Buds

Lavender was the overall winner because it was most effective with the least side effects.(Cloves made the clothes smell like holiday potpourri, while cedar left resin on the clothes if not hung at the bottom of individual garment bags.)
