We've long believed that simple green changes in one's home and habits can make a difference. Wire&Twine's list of the 50 Ways To Help The Planet may not offer anything we haven't already heard, but they're all good reminders. See if you can add anything new to the list.
Here are their first 20 tips:
- Change your light.
- Turn off computers at night.
- Don't rinse (your dishes).
- Do not pre-heat the oven.
- Recycle glass.
- Diaper with a conscience.
- Hang dry.
- Go vegetarian once a week.
- Wash in cold or warm.
- Use one less paper napkin.
- Use both sides of paper.
- Recycle newspaper.
- Wrap creatively.
- Rethink bottled water.
- Ban bathtime.
- Brush without running.
- Shower with your partner.
- Take a shorter shower.
- Plant a tree.
- Use your cruise control.

I don't know if I agree with not rinsing dishes - have you ever tasted leftover soap? blech! I have a wash sink and a rinse sink, so the rinsing water used is minimal (it's not running the whole time I'm washing dishes).
I just clicked the link - they mean rinsing before putting in the dishwasher. I can see that, but having to re-run a whole load would be more wasteful than rinsing (or at least scraping) beforehand!
Also, for my 2nd grammar nerd comment of the night, it's one fewer paper napkin, not one less. The Trader Joe's sign changes have made me bold enough to stand up for this!
