Name: Kyle Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin Type: Loft Why I use color: I use color to demarcate place inside essentially one big room. When I moved in over a decade ago I knew if I saw one more stark white minimalist loft with little more than two Cobusier chairs and some tulips in a vase I was going to have to leave to country and move to one that actually understood color. I also use color for mood, like Mondrian's Boogy Woogy painting, if you put enough of it together well it takes on a sense all it's own.

The sleeping areas were very important when it came to choosing color. We wanted to craft a space that takes advantage of the features the loft offers us while giving us a tranquil environment. For our child's room we thought green would be soothing and the addition of bright oranges, pinks and reds would be playful at the same time. 2 good color tips: Anything by David Hicks and just walk out the door. 2 good color resources: It sounds funny but one of the big paint companys came out with the whole box of Crayola Crayons box of 64 colors a few years ago.... and they worked when we were kids so why not now.
