- Vintage Molding: I can never get enough molding, and these brightly colored, vintage-inspired rails are perfect for displaying your fun shoes.
- Rolodex Shoe Organizer: This idea from Rakku Designs can be made by repurposing old wheels. It is a great idea for heels especially since it maximizes the space by using a pie-shaped organization system.
- Shoe Armoire: We often overlook the perfect offerings of wine racks, wooden file cabinets, and armoires for organizing our shoes. This beautiful piece is stylish, and blends in with the room, making it perfect for studio apartments that are tight on closet space.
- Shoe-case: Vintage suitcases are back with a bang, from tables to organizing trays, yet what about for shoes? They look so natural underneath the bed, that no one has to know they serve a double purpose. Just add in some dividers and a suitcase can be instantly transformed.
- Shoe Art: For a funky way to display your shoes, consider these types of 3D shapes that allow enough room to hang your heels or tuck in your flats. You can make similar designs with reclaimed wood, hubcaps, bicycle wheels, and other funky shaped items that have crevices.
- Shoe Drawer: The flip-down drawers used to be for firewood and other items, but they are also perfect for shoe storage. With their pie-shaped form, similar to the shoe rolodex, they allow you to maximize the space for shoe storage.
- Shoe Rollers: Get an old grate or tray and glue some wheels on it for easy access shoe rollers for under the bed. These aren't necessarily the prettiest of the storage ideas, but it is certainly functional and easy to access.

White Enamel Flatwa...
I have the rakku and only have amazing things to say about it. It takes up so little space, and stores all my shoes, which are visible and easily accessible.
But what if you have a weakness for boots?! I need some sort of secret for storing those efficiently.
Anyone know how I can find (or make) something like the flip-down drawer in #6?! I've never seen one of those before!
By the way, @Slow Lorus, I think one of those could work for boots too - just lay the boots on their sides with the soles facing opposite directions, and the tops of the boots overlapping - that's the way I pack boots in a suitcase. You couldn't store as many, obviously, but they would be out of the way.
The 1st pic's design'd be great in my house, if only my wife wore heels...
I have a similar system to the Molding Concept, I use my old curtain rods. I hang my curtains from the ceiling now for the long look. So, the rods were free! I hung the rods under my clothes in my closet in two rows.
molly white you have just solved my shoe problem! I have kept all my shoes in shoe boxes the original box if i could, labeled them however it is a nightmare trying to get a box from the bottom of the row and the shelf is so high up.. i immediately ran to my basement and grabbed my old curtain rod that have been collecting dust. I am so installing these bad boys so happy i kept the hardware! THANK YOU!!!!!
I love the fancy trim but i rent and i have the rod on hand so now money put out for this project, plus they are silver and my room is "polished silver" a soft gray so i dont need to so anything. woo hoo!!!
Does anyone know where the black rubber one in the 5th pic is from? I really like it and think it would be a perfect solution for all the kid shoes in our hallway. They gave the website -- but i can't find it on there???

Did you ever get an answer? I would like to know as well please? Where can you get this??
