Have you been making playdough at home? If you go to the trouble of making homemade playdough, consider using natural dyes instead of food coloring to color the dough.
We found a great list of 6 sources of a natural dye over at Minieco. Sound interesting? Here are the 6 sources Minieco came up with:
- raspberries
- blueberries
- rose petals
- beetroot
- turmeric
- oak tree bark
For specific recipes of how to develop each of these into a natural dye that works great with homemade playdough, check out Minieco blog.

This must be the most beautiful playdoh I have ever seen!
I bought all natural plant dye packets from Glob it on www.globiton.com and used them to color our homemade playdough - you can get a variety of colors very inexpensively. I used about a half a packet on balls of dough the size of my fist. It made a great party favor gift!
