IKEA….it's never a quick shopping experience. Plus, those swedish meatballs are amazing!

What inspired you?

Sunsets falling over Cerro San Luis combined with unbeatable Central Coast weather! A flexible, open plan allows transformation from 'tranquil urban refuge' to 'dynamic indoor/outdoor entertaining venue.' Retractable, bi-folding doors open the southwest wall onto a covered balcony.

Slate floors throughout the interior and exterior absorb and re-radiate the sun's heat and extend the perceived livable space. Tall windows and partition walls allow air to move freely for a passive cooling effect, while large mirrors and white walls reflect light, adding visual depth. Furniture also functions as storage, such as the butcher block kitchen island with open shelving below.

Design Tip:

Keep your furniture on movable sliders, or rolling casters, allowing your space to be opened up and reconfigured to suit different functional needs. Also, a folding Murphy wall bed will recapture precious floor area!
