It's been a muddy spring here in Minnesota, and that muddiness has taken a toll on our very old doormat. I've been searching for a great new mat and finally decided to just make something myself. Here are 7 doormats you can make to spruce up your entryway just in time for summer.
(Shown above the jump, from left to right)

2 Martha Stewart has put together a tutorial for a great braided rope rug here.
3 I love the pebble mats out there, here's a tutorial from Curbly for you to make one on your own!
4 How Does She? has put together an easy how-to for a wood plank doormat.
5 Corner Hardware has a tutorial for this sturdy doormat sure to knock the dirt off of any shoe!

a couple of those are so pretty I wouldn't want anyone to step on them! great ideas!
Love love love #1!!!
I would like a wood plank mat for my bathtub! My suction cup fish are not doing it anymore. I would need to round out the end to fit into my tub though.
I love#1 too but was not able to find how to make it for myself even after following the links- it'd be great if there was a tutorial for that one
.
Love all of these. Would really like to know which dollar store you found the plain door mats...can't find some inexpensive ones anywhere...thanks!
