What inspired you?
My kid! I wanted to introduce him to a gender-neutral environment -- One that I'd be happy to spend lots of time in. I knew I'd be breast feeding, so I wanted a super comfortable chair. I tried all of them (like Goldilocks) from Ikea to Nurseryworks and settled on something in the middle price range. I wanted to avoid clutter and plastic, because the space is so small -- every item has to count. Also, I was inspired by retro fabrics and my Bernina Sewing Machine.

We tried to go with cost effective ideas for children's items/décor that will transition as the children grow. The entire nursery cost less than $1000. Our aim was a beautiful, stylish space that would work for the whole family. The Daybed has two slide-out sides that make it a comfortable twin bed, and has a hinged storage compartment for bedding.

Great Tip: Just because it exists and you can register for it, doesn't mean your kid needs it or wants it.

I wish you had used your third picture to show another view instead of repeating the first picture. I can only see a tiny corner of the daybed; even though you described it in detail.
Well, despite that, I love the room and the color choices. Great job!
What kind of a crib is that?
Thanks
Interested in the daybed -- I have been looking for the smallest sofabed possible for our nursery. Where did you find it, how big is it? Thanks.
What's on the ceiling? I like it. Nice job.
I'd like to know what kind of crib that is, too! Thanks.
I'm in the same boat of wanting a comfortable chair and realizing I'll need to try many to find the right item in the right price. Which chair did you end up buying, and what were some of your thoughts about the ones you rejected? I recently tried out the Pottery Barn Kids Dream Glider and felt too short for it ....
colors are great!
can you say more about your lamp/chandelier? love it from the glimpse i've seen! is it wooden?

Thanks for the comments -- I wish had a photo of the daybed/wall, but Mama-Brain prevailed on that one! The crib is one from Community Playthings ( http://www.communityplaythings.com/c/BabiesToddlers/Cribs/G10.htm ) The Daybed is vintage fifties, and has no markings, via e-bay -- same story with the lamp. The ceiling is decorated with felt dots strung together with fishing wire. The chair is from Buy Buy Baby (they'll take the 20% off coupon on Best Chairs) -- It's called Skipper -- http://www.bestchairs.com/bcpublic/productDetail.do?option=&product=2027&category=JU ...
I'll try to figure out the daybed maker and the name of the lamp... THANKS!
What paint colour is that on the wall - its amazing!!
