White Enamel Flatwa...
I have the Loring and I love it!! I got it custom covered in a beautiful blue velvet. It is total eye candy. On top of that it is comfortable and durable, my 50lb dog can attest to that. Bonus that it looks great in my 1951 ranch...
That Essex Sofa from West Elm just jumps out at me! A West Elm is opening soon near where I live...
Number 7 please!
I've had the Loring for about 5 years and it's a great couch. MW17, I have a 1958 ranch! The low profile of this sofa is great for lower ceilings.
I really like both #3 and #4. Unfortunately buying a sofa has been a bit of an issue with my wife and I. She loves big, ugly, overstuffed couches. I prefer simple and comfy. I don't know why some want a couch that feels like sitting in a beanbag chair. :-/
MW17 and GG_MS:
I'm thinking of getting the Loring -- how have the cushions held up? In my home, the sofa will be used every day, including napping, so I am looking for dense cushions that will last a while before flattening out. I'd love to hear your opinions.
Love Number Six, hate the fussy feet.
Number five reminds me of a junker car - each panel painted a different color. It looks cheap, like you compiled the couch instead of bought it.
Number seven, though, makes me want to curl up on it and listen to some Prince records. Love it.
Amazing. Check the reviews... Eastwyck by Jar
Number 7 looks good enough to eat.
I've been looking for a tight seat & back sofa for the longest time (years of fighting with the cushions on my tired Ektorp, and it's predecessor- a PB hand me down- have put me off cushions for good) so #7 looks like a dream... if only it was available in something besides velvet...
HEYJOANNE- I've been amazed at the firmness/shape retention of the cushions after 5 years. My husband is 200 lbs and we use it every day, and someone sleeps on it not infrequently. I also have 2 Mackenzie chairs from R&B that I've had a year longer than the couch and they're holding up very well, too.
BATTRA92- my husband and I are the opposite of y'all, but he eventually bent to my will. Ha ha. He has to admit that our couch, while not a beanbag feel, is very comfortable. The only thing that he really had to sacrifice on is that the armrests aren't cushy (for leaning on/laying his head on). He got used to just putting a pillow behind him quickly :)
@HEYJOANNE My couch is really holding up well! My less than graceful dog jumps on and off/flies off it all the time (trying to correct these behaviors), no damage from her. Also, my husband is a big fella and the cushions are perfectly firm where he sits...you can't see a difference from each side. I have had my couch for about three years now and it still looks brand new! The armrests are the only hard part on the couch...which is easily remedied by a pillow. We have the 89" version which was necessary for the shape of our living room. Hard to find a stylish not overly modern (boxy) sofa in that length.
Hi Joanne -
I too love my Loring, it has held up amazingly well for 3-4 years, no droopy cushions and I spend quite a bit of time on it (including sleeping). I do remember thinking it was pretty stiff when it got delivered (compared to the store model, but it was great a few weeks into it. It's not as deep as a lot of other couches so if you're very tall it might not be quite right. I too had to add pillows for resting my head while lounging & sleeping.
Highly recommend it !
Thanks so much! Loring is now on the top of my list.
