As May gets underway (already! 2009 is flying by) we've pulled together a list of the items that retailers usually put on sale this month. The amount of discount may vary but if you are considering any of these purchases, now might be a good time to do a little comparison shopping...

So true. We bought our tv at this time of year because all the new models are coming out, and the stores are trying to get rid of last year's stock.
They practically GAVE us a tv.
Are mattresses usually on sale all month? I've been needing one forever and this might be the month to get one. I've already noticed fliers coming to my door/mailbox for all the sales.
Any place in particular that I should check out or shy away from? We have Sleepy's, Mattress Discounters and Mattress Warehouse plus some no name places around here. (VA.) I've heard M.W. is a scam house. Least that's what the boyfriend says. :)

What mall is that?? crazy!
grafxnerd -my advice for mattresses is go the last day of a sale, close to closing time, and be able to write a check then & there. I got almost 50% off my mattress this way - even at a chain (mancini's sleepworld).

Is that photo a Gursky print?
Linens and towels interesting I was just thinking I need to replace some this morning. Thanks for the tip
Really, spring cleaning, gardening, luggage and outdoor furniture? That sounds like something that would go on sale in the autumn... I think it's a trick...

According to the stock photo link, it's Berjaya Times Square, Kuala Lumpur. Amazingly, four of the levels (and their escalators) are cropped out!
Marketing 101. Everything is always either on sale or 10 days away from being on sale. You just don't notice until you're looking for that item.
