You could spend every waking minute on DIY this weekend (we know you've got January Cure assignments, too) or you could tackle a few easy projects to quickly refresh a room instead. And why not update your bedroom — the place you begin and end each day? Here are some simple, favorite DIY projects for your sleep space that are either quick or hassle-free (ideally both), so you can have even more time to enjoy your weekend!
Bored of your headboard? The easiest thing to do: Add a square of painted color on the wall. You can take your own headboard off or paint around it. Or, if you can't paint your walls, you could splash some paint on your hard-surface headboard. On a budget? Consider sample sizes of paint cans to keep the price low. As spotted on Alexandra Angle Interior Design.
Need a new nightstand for storage but also want something compact to fit in a small space? Consider a small shelf instead of a stand. Even better? Grab an old drawer for contained storage and a hook to hang things from with the pull. As seen on Design*Sponge.
Just need some more color or pattern in your space? Consider a DIY duvet. (Though let's be honest, this might be stretching the idea of "easy" for non-sewers, but the steps seem simple enough, and the pay-out great.)
For a pop of something graphic and fun: Try making adorable His and Hers pillow cases (Valentine's Day is just around the corner!).
A wall looking too plain? Just rearrange your existing art; try a funky new wall collage.
One of the easiest ways to update an old dresser that doesn't involve stripping, sanding or painting is just installing new drawer pulls and knobs. The knobs pictured above are from Anthropologie.
Make new curtains without sewing. Adding new curtains (or just adding them if you don't already have them) can have a huge effect on a space. And it doesn't have to take a long time! Find a great tutorial on Young House Love.
