The best part about home decor, and more specifically the display of technology in our home, is that there's no need to reinvent the wheel. There's only so many ways to contain and present certain items so we've taken a stroll back through past tech tours and rounded up a few ingenious ideas we'd like to steal for our own home...

1. Wallpaper + TV Mount: It would be easy to think that the pattern of any one of the new fabulous wallpapers available would be too much visual clutter when placed behind your flat screen. But this beautiful display makes the tv feel less like a giant black box mounted on the wall and more like a framed work of art. Make sure to check out the full minimalist tour.

2. Mid Century Modern Credenza: This credenza holds a dvd collection, printer, cable box and much, much more. Check out another view, or two and see how it all fits in nice and neat.

3. Task Lamp Lighting: If you have a collection of any kind, be it books or dvds, lighting it, not only makes it feel more important, but leaves your room without the black hole a bookcase can be. Check out the multiple task lamps and the element of fun and function they bring to the space.

4. Controlling Your Cables: Not everyone has the ability to hide their cables in their walls. For those with masonry, finding a visually appealing solution is a must. This set up keeps everything neat and tight with little visual clutter.

5. Adding Color Under Our Keys: When we talk about color in our home offices, usually the conversation drifts towards wall color and window treatments. But Gregory's recent knock out office makeover showed us a new way to bring in a bright pop of color. He used a clear desk desk pad and placed blue faux bois paper from The Paper Source underneath. It's a great way to keep the surface protected and colorful!

6. Bring The Lighting Down: This workspace has been featured time and time again (usually for different reasons!) because of it's simple aesthetic and modern feel. The best part is that it's actually a functional space and one of those key components is the lighting that has been lowered down above the desk. Don't forget, there's more than just overhead, center of the room, options available to you!

7. Add A Plant: It's easy to think about the areas where our (expensive) tech items lie as plant free zones. Usually because it's best if they're water free zones, so the lack of living things in the area is only normal. Don't forget you can take house plants to the sink to be watered and give them a home wherever you see fit! They look fabulous against this white wall, right next to the tv!

8. Recessed Speakers: As most anyone can tell you, things that sit on the floor not only gather more dust and dirt, but pet hair galore! We take the time to make a permanent home for other things, why not recess your speakers as well? It will make sweeping a breeze and make your space feel larger while still sounding great!
