Swedish firm Belatchew Arkitekter plans to turn the existing Söder Torn building into the Strawscraper, a new way to gather energy in an urban environment. By adding 14 floors and covering the exterior with plastic straws, even relatively small movements will generate wind power. If the technique proves viable, old and new buildings can be converted to be more energy efficient.
