A Train-Themed Boy's Room

Seiji's Room, Bellevue, WA

We imagine Seiji is delighted with his train room! His mom Aya tells us about it: This is a train-themed room I designed for my 2-year-old son who is obsessed with trains, especially Thomas the Train. It's also a very budget friendly room since almost everything is handmade or are items that we had that are reused.

The colors are bright and vibrant like our son's personality, and the primary colors go well with Thomas. The bed was custom designed and made by his grandpa using the slats from an old futon frame and other wood he already had.

The Metro sign was painted by myself and most of the pictures in the frames are photos of trains I took and manipulated. The bedding is from Ikea and the pillow on the chair was made from Ikea fabric.

The bookcase is an old bathroom cabinet that we weren't using anymore. The wooden train and blue clock on the bookcase are thrift store finds. The hooks are cheap discount stores that were custom painted by me.

Thanks Aya! Choo-choo!
