Talk about making a rainbow connection: This is San Antonio International Airport's latest art installation.
The work, entitled Plexus c18, and was created by Mexico City native and Dallas resident Gabriel Dawe. The large-scale weaving combines over 90 miles of thread into a gradient of prismatic color that emulates the dynamic shape of an airplane.
The art was installed last month, and will be on display in the terminal for three years. "What's wonderful about this project is the fact that it will be seen by thousands of travelers, and my hope is that Plexus c18 will bring them some joy in their journey," says Dawe.
