Well, we think Vana, the artist behind the silhouette shop Le Papier Studio, got it just right. She sent us in a link to her post all about her new studio and it's light, bright, cheerful and welcoming.
• Keeping all the furniture white creates cohesion among the different pieces and looks great against the medium gray walls.
• The mix of open storage (to keep things accessible) and plenty of closed storage in the form of containers and a curtained closet (to keep things looking uncluttered) is smart.
• The overall mix of functionality (computer, printer, plenty of paper storage) and pure decoration (artwork, creative containers, cute calendars) seems to in the correct balance to foster creative work and get the job done!
Be sure to check out Vana's blog to find out more about her new studio and visit her shop to see her silhouettes.
Thanks, Vana!

Commercial Flour Sa...
What a beautiful, inspired space! And just the inspiration I needed to tackle my own home office, which I've tragically neglected.
Thanks!
What paint is that? That's the shad of gray I need...
My kind of organization! I love the splashes of color! There is ALOT of stuff in the room, but it manages not to look clutter. Wow, what an inspiration!
I agree. I think by using white for the furniture consistently it makes the "clutter" neater but also makes it a space full of personality.
Love this. Yay!
nice space! open storage is key, easy access and it makes a small room seem larger.
Lovely! That grey is almost the same shade of grey that was in the room that I've recently turned into my studio.
Great office; I am envious. No matter how hard I try, I cannot keep my husband's stuff in his office in baskets, bins, boxes...nothing works. He wants it all out and all over the place. Fine for him, but I can never find ANYTHING! I am getting in there to try once more. Wish me luck!!
I too would like to know what that grey paint color is, pretty please.
I want to know where those metal baskets hung from the shelves come from! Those are awesome!
does anyone know where i can find those wire shelves hanging within the expedit?? i neeeeed those.
I'm so jealous, that is the way my office/studio looks in my dreams
Deebo - Me too!
::Looks down at arm::
Wow, I think I just turned green.
Wow, very inspiring! For some reason your artwork vignette chokes me up, very sweet! Are some of those mounted to wood? I like it, nice and simple.
This is exactly how I would want my home office to look, if I ever had the discipline to work from home. Which I don't. =)
Incidentally, the paint color looks similar to a paint color my tenants used in their bedroom: Behr Dolphin Fin.
in the process of setting up my craft room and LOVE these paper storage ideas!
Where did you get the wire hanging shelves/baskets? They are perfect for making the shelving space more functional.
looks like restoration hardware silver sage.
Hello everyone!
Thanks for all the comments here!
To answer some of your questions here:
- Paint color is Heavy Goose by Martha Stewart (purchased at the local Home Depot)
- Black wire racks are from IKEA (look for them in the heavy duty storage, shelving area).
If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to contact me directly.
Best,
Vana

Dreamy.
One persnickety point about the post: Vana's blog post plainly says this studio is a big move OUT of her house. That is, it's not a home office. Obviously, every great idea in there could be done in a home office too, so it's not any less helpful; but hey -- here's to accuracy!
It's great to see a little space that is very organized. Great choices of color. It means business yet very fun, I like that!
i really enjoy this. the art above the desk is fun and modern. here's a link to a similar artist ;)
