Young Mič Styling, a new brand of salon in Slovenia, is taking a different approach to targeting today's youth. Instead of going with a grungy skater look, their locations embrace full-on 80's nostalgia. Follow me after the jump to see more...
The design studio Kitsch-Nitsch worked with leading Slovenia salon brand Mič Styling to create a bright, cheerful, 80's pop salon to make teens and early 20-somethings feel right at home.
Personally, having lived through that decade the first time around, it doesn't really work for me as retro or nostalgic. However, for kids too young to remember the 80s, it reads as fun, poppy, unique and a little rebellious; they can't seem to get enough. Retro 80's fashion has been huge on the youth market for many years now, so it must be working.
I can definitely see the appeal of this salon towards the younger market — I think it will be a success. Now I just want to hear the soundtrack playing in there.
