And they all look fabulous and relaxing until you get there, and unless you have your own private hammock you have to actively stake out the area to ensure you are first to get there and secure a hammock, then try and relax as kids scream or other people just generally ruin your calm.

Growing up, whenever we'd go to the beach or the park in a large group, one of my relatives would always take a hammock to put up.
I have one now that I bought in Nicaragua in one of the markets. It's beautiful, but I've yet to put it up. I thought about putting it up in my balcony, but I haven't gotten around to it. Plus, I have to check the association bylaws. :-/
