Now that the worst of the heat has broken for most of us, it's time for outdoor projects to get underway again. In the fall, that generally means buttoning things up for winter or preparing something nice for next spring. This project falls into the latter category:
We saw a bubble fountain on a tour of a local elementary school several years ago. It was installed at ground level and almost appeared as a natural spring. We've been smitten with it ever since, but didn't know what to call it until we stumbled on this DIY from FreshHome Ideas.
It requires only a fountain kit, a water well set into the ground, and rocks to cover it and act as a place for water to trickle down and make its magical, relaxing sound. Now, there's nothing stopping us from having a baby like this up and running for next spring!

Pretty, and the lizards and other small wildlife would appreciate it.
Where do they sell fountain kits? That's cool!
Try garden supplies centers, hardware stores, and plant nurseries.
I made something very similar at our last house and loved it. I bought my fountain pump @ the home despot for around $20.
Also craft stores and pet stores.
This would be great if you have a beehive! I'm going to try it!
cant you use grey water or something? water features are a waste of water
MissHeliotrope - not everyone lives in the dessert, here in the Northeast we have plenty of water to "waste". Also, see above comment about lizards and small wildlife enjoying it.
