When space it tight, sometimes you just have to be a little more ingenious with the details. For instance, check out this built-in cabinet that also houses a stair:
Built by Jacobs Fine Construction, this winder stair really takes up little more space than a spiral stair. It requires only a small opening in the ceiling and includes storage beneath it.
Granted, this looks like one steep step, but we love the obvious precision with which it was designed and built to fit in a small space.

While I like the idea, I'm not convinced this si the best solution to the space. It seems to me that the cabinet (w galss doors) could be a lot larger, encompass more of that tight corner and provide more storage. Also, to outlets seem a bit awkward -- but hard to really know without seeing the rest of the room. And yes, those are mighty steep steps -- are they "up-to-code"???
That's gorgeous!
Would love to have something like this in a little cottage or loft apartment - So ship-like!
I do think it is neat but agree that it was storage under the stairs it seems as though a great deal of space has been wasted. I think that it will personally skip the steps that steep though!
like the concept but this one is hardly different than pushing a free standing cabinet against the wall under the stair
