This front door incorporates not only bold color but - even more noticeably - bold pattern. It's the first time we've seen a damask pattern on an entry door and we must say we love it:
Notice, too, how the threshold is painted to match the door. The pattern was created by Allison Cosmos, painted in a glossy white paint on a coral-colored background. See a great shot of the door featured in Metropolitain Home right here.

Looks like a lot of work, but I like it. However, there's already plenty going on outside the front door. The concept might be better used on the inside of a front door to brighten a blah little foyer without taking space.
I agree with Miami's Elaine. As a matter, it was my first thought upon seeing the picture.
Fun! But I think this would look better if the door did not have raised panels.
GASP! I love it!
I'm with geckotoes1. I think I would prefer this on a plain door.
I have a flat-panel front door, that I don't want to replace because the weather stripping is custom and still exceeds modern standards, I've been desperate to do something / anything to dress it up - and - THIS IS IT! Thanks!!!
I'll be brave and just say it; it's hideous.
Yes, I'm sorry -- it's a good effort but it just looks too busy and boudoir-like to be a front door. Perhaps with a different pattern and without the panels.
While I certainly appreciate the work that went into it I couldn't live with it. Great job.
love the idea, but I'd want quite a "simple" area around it so not to clutter
So great to see a new and fresh idea!
Refreshingly unconventional! Love the coral color and intricate design - it transforms the space and makes it pop! I love the interplay of the panels and the design - it adds to the contraposition and makes me love it even more!
Magnifique! I can see this in Elle Décor, flawless detail. I have to disagree completely with Anna Europe. Its a shame to have people attempting to critique artistic design they cannot comprehend. Love how the juxtaposition makes the door pop, very welcoming and lively.
This is beautiful. I think the varying opinions here are interesting - truly impressive works of art subjectively move the viewer and invoke different reactions. intricate and lovely.
I find this refreshing, not only in color but creativity. It's original and inspiring and the fact that there are such differing opinions, truly proves that it is a work of art.
