A Colorful Nursery with a Captivating, Watercolor Wallpaper Ceiling

Professional Project

Project by: Copper Gyer Design
Client: the designer's daughter
Location: Santa Monica, California

The colorful, fluid ceiling in this girl's nursery is visually arresting and lends a diverse color palette for the rest of the room to draw upon. Designer Copper Gyer calls the ceiling "groovy": I joke that my daughter and I lie on the floor and listen to Pink Floyd, which actually does happen.

More from Copper Gyer Design:

The watercolor wallpaper, from Black Crow Studios, was Gyer’s inspiration for the room. Colors from the print are threaded throughout the space for a playful, smart look. Gyer mixes modern classic Bertoia side chairs with the contemporary design of David Netto’s natural oak and white lacquer crib. A gold and white acid washed custom cowhide rug adds pop and a bookshelf resembling grass creates a sculptural play spot. A custom daybed that doubles as toy storage anchors the room and is the perfect transition piece for her toddler and grade school years. The result is a modern look that is highly sophisticated and lots of fun.
Thanks Copper!
