We always love a good DIY project, but this one is a bit more extreme than others. Instead of refurbishing the bones of a thrifted or Craigslisted piece, Apartment Therapy reader and Flickr member artipharce, busted out the tools and came up with a most amazing custom console table.

We spotted this fabulous find over at Flickr where you can check out the entire set of photos on the creation of this piece. It stemmed from a spare piece of timber in the backyard and a naked wall in the dining room. The space called for a piece that was long and skinny without feeling too light. We love the weight that the beam gives and the airiness that the legs bring to the picture.

It's easy to see beauty in natural elements, but sometimes you have to be willing to bust out the tools and give something a try! Thanks artipharce, job well done!

Do you have a DIY project to share? Make sure to tag your Flickr photos with ApartmentTherapy and we'll be watching to see what you're up to! In that non-creepy way of course!
