Reader: Michelle (owner of preschool for ages 2-5)
Location: Portland, OR
I am a family child care provider. Over 5 years, I have turned my front yard into an outdoor play space for the ten preschoolers who spend their days with me.
We have a large sand area (10 yards of sand!) with a log tunnel entrance and a hand pump for the children to use. A play structure, mudpie kitchen, large playhouse, and various planting areas (you can see the start of this year's sunflower house and bean teepee in one photo) complete the yard. This year I replaced the grass with artificial turf, which has been a wonderful change when it comes to being able to use the yard even in Oregon's rainy weather.
Thanks Michelle! What lucky children to have such a varied, create outdoor space to play in! Readers, you can find out more about this inspiring place at Busy Bee Daycare & Preschool.

Oh my GOSH! This is so awesome -- I want to move to Portland just so my children can attend your preschool! Save us two spots! ha ha
My son is one of the lucky kiddos that gets to spend 5 days a week at Michelle's. It is so wonderful to know he has such a fun and creative environment to play and learn in. Never a dull moment here! I can't wait until my daughter is old enough to join.
What's the name of the Day Care?
My best friend is sending her little girl there! Apparently there is a cool play structure that these photos don't show.
It was hard to pick just five photos!
I am not positive this is okay, but if you want to see more pictures, my website is www.busybeedaycare.homestead.com

This is some kind of fabulous!
I applaud you!!! What an amazing place you have created.
I wish all children could be so lucky as to spend their days at your obviously very caring daycare. May this post influence other carers to do likewise!
I absolutely love my daycare provider/sitter, but this is AMAZING! I'm so inspired!
