A great desk for a small space is hard to find. Even harder to find is a small space desk with ample storage, but Daniel Schofield created the perfect solution to both problems.
Spotted on Houzz, this desk is beautifully crafted and lovely in its simplicity. It not only stores everything you want hidden, but it's also a lovely addition to any home.
Schofield loves to include elements of secrecy in his work, and his Shifty desk is no exception. At first, you'd assume the desk's storage unit is located on the front. Instead, the desk is designed so the storage area appears when you pull out the work surface, revealing a perfect place to store papers and other essentials.

This is a neat idea, but practically, I would rather just have a drawer - easier to access my stuff, and less chance of whatever is on the desk/shelf falling off when you pull the whole thing away from the wall.
I have to agree with username26 for the most part. In fact that was my first thought upon seeing this.
BUT
I could see a situation where you have your supplies staged in the "drawer", and having them behind the workspace is actually desirable if you need to access them often while working. In that case, pulling out and re-closing a drawer over and over while you work would be a hassle.
I like this not so much for a desk but as a sort of hidden safe place. You couldn't lock it as-is but the things I'm concerned about keeping close wouldn't be clearly visible because it just looks like a floating shelf to the ordinary eye. Basics like emergency cash, spare house keys, my Will/Trust/Medical Directive, my favorite heirloom necklace, my father's pocket watch, etc. Why not just use a safe? A family dispute prompted a former family member to break into my house and steal mine. I need more inventive ways to keep things near but safe and this might just suit perfectly.
I see this as the ideal treadmill desk. Theow in some adjustable braces so you can hang it and reach the monitor sensors, and wow!
