A Detached Garage Turned Into a Cool Teen Hangout

Professional Project

Project by: Christina Britt Lewis of The Redesign Company
Clients: sons Cole & Camden
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

We live in a little house with a detached garage. We sold our big house with the "bonus room" on purpose ten years ago so that we could afford to start over and do what we love for a living. It's a choice we never regret, but we make BIG boys and they have BIG friends. They needed more space so we redesigned our garage.

We used mostly what we have plus added a tv and a ping pong table that we bartered for. We repurposed the twin beds they grew up sleeping in but no longer fit it. We framed trail maps from family ski trips in cheap frames and found a new thing or two at IKEA to finish things uber affordably. They live out there now!

Thanks, Christina.
