We've featured several DIY cinder block planters — they're great because the blocks are inexpensive, easy to come by, and customizable. Reader Kristen was inspired by our posts, but decided to take the idea one step further by making a planter and bar using concrete blocks, along with many other salvaged materials.
Kristen from The Hunted Interior was doing some work on her deck and decided it needed an outdoor bar. She had been waiting for a reason to replicate the cinder block planters we previously featured, and realized they'd make a great sturdy base for the bar. She used old deck boards as the top and refinished a salvaged glass door for the colorful backdrop. Once she came up with the construction plan, it took only two days and less than $50 to complete!

brilliant!
I want that window in the background!
Great looking, resourceful, big fun!
This is great!! I love the door/window too... fabulous. Would love to know how THAT was adapted! :)
Super fun! It would make a wonderful boundary wall on some property, too.
The window in the background might be an old door painted black with stained glass paint applied to the window panes. Looks lovely.
The simple things are the best!
