A DIY Upholstered Floor Bed

Green Eyed Monster

It was time for Sunny to graduate to a "big girl bed" and her parents went all out - not with cash, but with work and ingenuity - to make her a fabric-covered floor bed.

Ashley and James started with an Ikea mattress and created this colorful beauty with basic materials (wood, hinges, batting, fabric). They break the project down for you with a photo tutorial on the Green Eyed Monster blog and estimate they spent about $65 (minus the mattress and found wood).

Clearly, Sunny loves it and so do we!

By the way, if you're not familiar with Green Eyed Monster, here's a quick summary: "The Green Eyed Monster shop is curated with an eye for enviable living. Each designer and handmade product promote a sustainable and earth-friendly lifestyle."
