Home Theater - Light Setup from msouza on Vimeo.
We'll pardon the spastic video editing stylization of this Vimeo piece uploaded by msouza, only because the video does a great job showcasing an excellent example of how to properly light a home theater setup. With a good mix of focused and indirect lighting, his setup provides ample illumination in a variety of combinations...
We've got a similar LCD + pulldown projection screen/ceiling mounted projector setup (though nowhere as fancy, with the motorized action), but are envious of all the lighting options he's installed. The wraparound ceiling lighting is a nice touch, alongside the backlighting behind the screen. And note how he's installed lighting to provide directed illumination for remote use directed at the arm of his chair, or at the components of his home theater setup. This is a well thought out setup that looks great both while in use and when turned off.

UGH, that video was annoying.
Whoa. I had to turn it off when my left eye started twitching. Decent lighting tricks. Bad video.
Hey mom, look at me, I just learned how to use iMovie/FCP/Windows Movie Maker.
Seriously, less is more. That was irritating, I couldn't even watch it to the end.
The worst thing about it was that the only thing that was really useful to the video was the diagram of the room layout with the light positions, yet that was onscreen for a whopping 5 frames.
why is it all shaky? it looks like it was filmed by someone with a seizure?
Around the 1:45 mark he stops seizure cam and showcases the space normally. Sorry for subjecting you all to the first half...I actually watched it all.
